COMPUTER ANIMATION I

This two-credit junior course is an introduction to the exciting world of 3D animation. Students will be introduced to a variety of computer programs that are typical to the design and animation field. Students will use these new skills to produce cartoons, product models, logo animations and other typical industry related graphics. Basic video editing, multimedia, and 3D modeling will also be introduced. Drawing I is required with this major. This course may allow students to earn college credit from the Community College of Southern Nevada and the Art Institute of Las Vegas.
CGI 3D ANIMATION TECHNOLOGY
Grades: 12
Prerequisite: Computer Animation I, Art I, Drawing I
Credits: 3
Seniors create advanced 3-D animation in this three-credit course. Modeling characters and levels for computer games, special effects for movies, TV commercials, product models, character modeling and 3D illustration for print and broadcast are covered in depth during the year. Students will learn to edit their animated, short movies and transfer them to videotape. Graduation requirements include the production of a demo reel, interactive CD, and/or a portfolio of artwork. This course may allow students to earn college credit from the Community College of Southern Nevada and the Art Institute of Las Vegas.
